An Endlessly Rewarding Commute

  • A man on the bus sitting next to me taps me on the shoulder insistently until I remove my headphones.
  • Man: How long does it take for radiation to kill a man?
  • Me: Uh...I think it depends on the type, duration and frequency of exposure.
  • Man: Ok, thanks.

Jack of Nothing's Wit and Wisdom

  • (While standing next to a red Suzuki motorcycle)
  • Passerby: Wow, dude, is that your motorcycle?
  • Me: That's not a motorcycle. That's a cherry red death trap.

Monkey Pants

My fellow News geek Ethan Sacks interviewed Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro during the NY ComicCon. At one point, del Toro revealed that Hellboy creator Mike Mignola couldn’t help but laugh hysterically at the mere mention of the words ‘monkey’ and ‘pants.’ Further, he suggested that something involving said words should be my lead off question in my Mignola interview the next day.

Predictably, Mignola had no idea what I was talking about. “It’s the third day of a big comic convention. I used up all my giggles by Friday night.”

Stars in my Eyes

I just Googled my name, as I occassionally do, since I am in love with myself.

I was rather shocked to find that I have six pages of hits, and that all but a handful actually are for me. Better, things I’ve written for the Daily News have apparently been translated into German, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

Excuse me, I have to go write a Wikipedia entry for myself now…

Central Dark

I’m a sucker for the Alone in the Dark games so I had to go to Atari and get a sneak peak. Then, of course, I wrote something for the Daily News. This Sunday, a short version might even turn up in the paper. Click the fire!

Cutest Robot in the Universe

Seriously. I had the pleasure of checking out some demos of the Wall*E video game, and talked to developed Keith Pope about it. Then the Daily News actually put it on their site. Suckers. Click the cuteness to check it out.
